@grumman581 lol maybe.

@pikachuthesquirtle Sensing of body heat would not be very reliable since the body temperature on the extremities like your fingers can change quite a bit depending upon how cold it is. Depending upon electrical conductivity would also not work very well since some people have rather dry hands and as such, their fingers do not conduct very well. I had a problem with the Acura TSX's touch screen on their navigation system because of this.

@grumman581 well it depends on the sensor. if its an optical sensor, yes, but if its not optical but those conductive kind, it will be very hard, cuz it senses body heat too. plus u can always get a dual lock that authorizes with a pin and fingerprint. thats hard to crack.

@pikachuthesquirtle Actually, that is not quite correct... Mythbusters did a show on that awhile back and they were able to acquire someone's fingerprints and make duplicates of them. The thing about locks is that you are just hopefully making things difficult enough that they will go elsewhere.

@awsomeguy83 normally, because the key pushes the pins and THEN applys the turning force whereas bumping does it the other way round

@sbunny8 but you could try jump 4 times higher :)
By: CoolParkourName. on 27 Jul 10, 10:24:31
drill...

@9THSURVIVOR This technology does make picking more difficult (but not impossible). However, most thieves don't bother to learn how to pick locks because it takes skill. Bumping is much easier to learn. If you eliminate the low-hanging fruit, you force them to get a ladder, metaphorically speaking.

@iCookie1 That's like saying "I can jump over a 3 foot fence, so if they build a 12 foot fence, all I have to do is jump it 4 times, therefore 12 foot fences are useless". Besides, you weren't listening carefully. He didn't say it's 4 times more bump resistant than an ordinary lock, he said it's 4 times more resistant THAN THE TOUGHEST PROPOSED INDUSTRY STANDARD. I'm a Certified Master Locksmith; I know what I'm talking about.

resistance... lol make it fingerprint sensitive, no one can open ur lock unless they kill u first or extract ur thumb somehow.
By: awsomeguy83. on 15 Jul 10, 18:32:58
but how would the key work?
By: 9THSURVIVOR. on 14 Jul 10, 20:58:12
@frogy10923847 Yes, this changes nothing... Master locks are famous because they're so easy to pick.
By: frogy10923847. on 14 Jul 10, 20:48:02
@9THSURVIVOR I agree
By: cyberslick18. on 12 Jul 10, 17:41:35
You guys are fucking retarded. 4x resistant doesn't mean it just takes you 4 times longer, jesus christ.
By: circusboy90210. on 11 Jul 10, 16:28:00
@kuppazki british locks are no different.

@meimyself55 that is assuming the cylinder is on the last one. It seems it can be in any cylinder and more than one.
